A Space to talk about… Moving on from Primary School
This leaflet supports Year 6 pupils in thinking about an important ending - leaving primary school - and the range of feelings it brings up for everyone.
Year 6 is the final year of primary school. From the autumn term onwards, moving on comes into focus. Pupils and their families start thinking about which secondary schools to apply for. Teachers, too, will be looking ahead, helping pupils prepare for the challenges ahead. This leaflet can be used to open up conversations on the changes to come and the mixed feelings that can surface when navigating the primary/secondary school transition.
